Hoverblox Ltd today confirmed it has cleared [TRL stage] on its Technology Readiness Level roadmap, advancing the 12-metre, cube-shaped lighter-than-air platform another step toward market readiness within its 6–12 month window.
The platform is engineered to do three things drones and satellites cannot deliver together: persist for weeks, carry up to 500 kg, and re-role from one mission to another by changing modules rather than airframes. The same disciplined progression that takes a concept from the drawing board to the grid is now being applied to flight.
Earning lift from a sealed, lighter-than-air envelope rather than spinning rotors means almost all of the platform's energy goes into the mission — cutting energy use by as much as 90% and making weeks-long endurance possible. Buoyancy also gives it a naturally safe failure mode: a loss of power results in a slow, controlled descent rather than a fall.

What the platform does
Hoverblox is built for three markets at once, shifting between them by changing modules instead of airframes:
- Defence & Surveillance — persistent ISR, force protection and resupply, with edge compute at altitude and no need for runways or crews.
- HAPS & Communications — a cell tower in the stratosphere, delivering direct-to-device 5G/6G and Earth observation from 12–20 km.
- Logistics — heavy-lift aerial freight that bypasses roads, congestion and broken supply lines, with modular cargo pods and no crane required.
Where it sits on the roadmap
